Nov. 11, 1964 - Murder Investigations aboard the Queen Mary. Detectives On The Quayside. Detectives from Scotland Yard went aboard the luxury liner Queen Mary - to interview many crew members in their efforts to obtain information about the murder in Southampton on October 21st of 60 year old taxi driver George Newberry. He was found battered to death in a Lover's Lane seven miles from Southampton. For many years he had driven men from the liner in Southampton - and on the night of his death two men were seen boarding a taxi near the liner - which sailed later for New York.
