Dec. 26, 1976 - Civita Di Bagnoregio, the city is dying In Upper Latium, in an area between Lake Belsen and the Tiber, in the heart of a very wide valley bordered by the Prespennines, on the flat top of a hill which rises lena and isolated from the bottom like the cone of a volcanic crater. The thousand of years of erosion caused by streams which gush out dragging the earth down with them to the feet of the hill, has gradually and incessantly undermined it, so the doomed and powerless, one by one it watches its houses hurling over the edge to disappear in the abyss so that year by year it becomes a little bit smaller. Now only 80 persons lived in Civita de Bagnoregio, 80 kms from Rome, and have welcomed very enthusiastically the stars to Civita di Barnoregio to know the grievous situation of the little country that is destined to fade away gradually.
