Oct. 10, 1959 - The Golden Gentian Oiven for the first time to Germany: Drinkin a good glass of beer, producer of the Munchen Film E. Geer (E. Geer) and Gerti Kanamuller (Gerti Kanamuller) celebrated the success of their documentary film Phenomenon clinmbing (Phanomen Klettern). At the 8th International Festival for mountain and research films in Trient, this film out of 37 films was awarded the first prize, the Golden Gentian'. With that, this prize was given to Germany for the first time. Gerti Kanamuller who as the only woman filmed with the mountaineers Lothar Brandler (Lthat Brandler) and Toni Hiebler (Toni Hiebler) at the Eiger north-wall (Eiger) received the prize and took it tto Germany. This film ought to be one of the best documentary mountain films ever to have been taken
