Mar. 03, 1959 - Nine-year-old Ian McLeanahan's film The boy and the bridge to be shown at Cannes film festival: A film starring Ian McLenahan, a nine-year-old boy at Stoke Newington, London, primary school, may represent Britain at this year's Cannes Film Festival. And all Ian could say about it yesterday was; Wasn't bad doing the film. Don't mind if I do another'. It all began last year when producer Kevin McClory decided on this new film The boy and the bridge'. He interviewed 3, 000 boys but none fitted. Then Ian walked into Mr. McClory's Belgravis home. Ere, he said. I've come about that bridge film'. Mr. McClory engaged him right away because he said the boy was a natural actor'. It the film is not chosen for the Cannes film festival, it will have its premiere in Moscow.
