Oct. 10, 1959 - 200th, birthday of Friedrich Von Schiller: On Nov. 10th, 1759, the great German Poet Friedrich Von Schiller was born Marbach on Neckar/Germany. His father was military physician and officer. Friedrich Von Schiller studied law, and later medicine. In 1766 his first poem were published, and ten years he wrote his first play De Rauber (The robbers) which caused a dislike of the Duke of his Country for him. He fled, together with the musician Andreas Streicher, to the city of Mannheim, where he wrote his Fiesco'. Other master pieces followed, such as Kabale und Liebe (Conspiracy and love) Don Carlos, Maria Stuart, Wallenstein, Wilhelm tell and many more. On May 9th, 1805, Schiller died after having been ill for a long tie, in Wiemar/Germany, the city where the other great German Poet was born - Goethe, The works of both originated the Classical Decade in the German literature
