Jul. 10, 1970 - The 350th anniversary of the birth of cognac was celebrated this year in La Rochelle. A fishing flotilla departed, evoking the first departure of cognac towards foreign countries. 350 bottles containing a message telling the story of the birth of cognac were thrown in the sea for the occasion.
