May 05, 1977 - Strike Could Shut The National Theater: The unofficial wash basin strike by the National Theater electricians mechanics and production staff which has closed the17 million complex since last Friday, is very serious said Mr. Peter Hall, the director. With the concellation of last night's performance the theater's losses have reached22, 000 and if the strike continues50, 000will be lost by Thursday. The strike was caused by the dismissal of Mr. Cooper a plumber, who according to the management was asked to rrepair to faculty wash basins, a job which has been suggested could have been completed in two hours, three days later the task had still not been completed.
