JEAN-PAUL SARTRE VISITED ANARCHIST ANDREAS BAADER For one hour, French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre talked to Andreas Baader in a Stuttgart jail, on December 4th. Andreas Baader is a leading member of the anarchist RAF (Red Army Group), also known as the Baader/Meinhof -group, which is accused of bomb attempts, bank robbery and assassination. He is on a hunger-strike for 13 weeks to protest against the conditions of confinement for himself and other members of the group. At a press conference after the visit, Jean-Paul Sartre stated, that he had found Andreas Baader in a very bad physical and psychological condition, due to isolation.
