Discussing tartan at Claridges, London
Dec. 15 Lewis Tweed for Jackie Kennedy Mrs. Mary Perrins, wife of Britain's Ketchup King and director of the Hebridean weaving firm of MacLennan and MacLennan, recently presented Mrs. Kennedy with a length of light weight Lewis tweed. Mrs. Kollinsky, Macy European executive, suggested to Mrs. Perrins that America First Lady should also receive a Lewis tweed coat. Top British designer, Charles Creed, also a MacLennan and MacLennan director, will style the coat in a chafeless lightweight tartan tweed which when reversed is jet black. There are already 25 new Lewis tweed fabrics with romantic names such as Hebridean Sea and MacLeod of Lewis.
