Dizzy Gillespie - a most amicable and modest musician - not long ago delighted a large section of young Americans with his serious announcement that he plans to stand as presidential candidate for Youth in the next elections. The West-Germans recently had the unique opportunity of seeing and hearing Dizzy together with such acts as Sonny Stitt, Art Blakey, Kai Winding, Al McKibbon and Thelonious Monk in concerts organised in West Berlin and Frankfurt where these giants of Jazz got together as one band
