Dog guarding royal plate, Victoria and Albert Museum
Jan. 01, 1954 - Royal Plate is Moved From The Palace: Dingaan Simoa, better known as Danny, was the last line of defence against hi-jackers when the priceless royal plate was moved from Buckingham Palace to the Victoria and Albert Museum today. Danny, a 3-year oldull mastiff, and his Scots-born owner, Mr. Alex Sinclair, stayed in the van carrying the plate on the one-and-a-half mile journey. The removal of the Queen's plate is his most important job to date. The museum exhibition, from February 19 to April 19, has been made possible only through the absence aboard of the Queen.
