Sep. 09, 1961 - Years of Perseverance Rewarded Twenty-four year old actress Dorothee Blank was completely deaf three years ago. after an operation she partly recovered her hearing and as she was attending dancing and dramatic courses and wished to become an actress she had to overcome the difficulty in elocution due to deafness. Dorothee has now succeeded after a few years of patient training and she will appear in a leading role in the film Cleo From 3 To 5'. Dorothee was born in Bavaria from Jewish parents. As a baby she was taken to Switzerland and then to France where she was hidden by friends during the German occupation
