Mar. 03, 1954 - Chaos In Cairo - Day Of Riots And Demonstrations. Minister Kills Two Rioters: Tanks rumbled through the streets of the city - and troops with fixed bayonets took over in Cairo. The President of the State Council Sr. Abdel Razak El Sanhoury, Egypt's chief Justice and President of the State Council was accused by the mob of being a traitor and of siding with President Naguib against the Revolution Council - and might himself become Civilian Prime Minister. Dr. Sanhoury was attacked and received knife wounds - he ground and his shots wounded two rioters and killed two before they withdrew.
