Jan. 01, 1967 - New Chairman Of The Football Association Dr. Andrew Stephen: Dr. Andrew Stephen, aged 60, a Scotsman, who has been chairman of Sheffield Wednesday since 1955 - was yesterday elected chairman of the Football Association. He succeeds the late Mr. J.W.H. Mears. The election of Dr. Stephen followed a meeting of shareholders at which voting on a resolution that would have enabled Sir Stanley Rous, the president of FIFA to be nominated, had been close enough for a recount to be taken.
