Mar. 03, 1963 - Mozambique leader gets big welcome in Dar-Es-Salaam.: Dr. Eduardo Mondlane, President of the Mozambique Liberation Front - arrived in Dar-Es-Salaam from London - after resigning his post of Professor of anthropology at Syracuse University, New York, to take over full time leadership of the Front of which he was elected President last year. Dr. Mondlane said that he intended to gain independence for Portuguese East Africa within the next 12 month. He said that the front had three major areas of action in their fight for independence The first was direct action - second Diplomatic action and the third Education'.
