Dr. H A Thomas MSc, Manager of the Instrumentation and Control Section of Unilever Ltd, is giving a lecture entitled automation at the Royal Festival Hall today. Some of the models to be used in the lecture were on display there this morning. Photo shows Dr. Thomas fires tennis balls from a gun as part of a demonstration of automatic control of weight of balls of dough in a bakery. This illustrates how moulds can be altered automatically to cope with the difference in density
