Dr Kenneth Slack of Christian Aid at press conference

Mar. 16, 1981 - 16th March 1981 Christian Aid to El Salvador must continue Dr. Kenneth Slack, Director of Christian Aid, spoke in London today of the need for the Christian Church to continue giving aid to those who are suffering in strife-torn El Salvador. Dr. Slack has just returned from a tour of Central America, including El Salvador, and Brazil. Dr. Slack said that wherever he and a colleague travelled he found that Christians deeply resented American policy in the area. Stopping aid, he said, would be to pander to the Reagan administration's inability to recognise that the population faces greater terror from government forces than from anyone else. Photo Shows: Dr. Kenneth Slack appears to be praying as he spoke of his visit to El Salvador at today's press conference at the British Council of Churches in London
