Apr. 19, 1977 - Cologne, Germany - On April 19th, 1967, ten years ago, KONRAD ADENAUER died at Rhoendorf near Bonn in Germany. He was 91 years old. He was born in Cologne and was a lawyer. In 1971 he became Lord Mayor of Cologne. After World War II, he was one of the founders of the Christian Democratic Union. In 1949 he was chosen as chairman of the CDU. The same year Adenauer became the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany
