Dr Robert Servatius, lawyer to Adolf Eichmann

Jul. 07, 1960 - Cologne counsel will be attorney of Eichmann: 65-year-old counsel Dr Robert Servatius of Cologne was asked by the relatives of former leading SS man Adolf Eichmann to defend Eichmann in the trial. Eichmann was brought from Argentina to Israel where he is now to be tried. Dr Servatius who declared that he has never belonged to the Nazi party and never had an official post in Nazi Germany, is known to the relatives of Eichmann through the time of the Nuremberg trials against war criminals. That time, Servatius was lawyer to Fritz Sauckel and of the organisation Political Ladder'. Dr Servatius, who is willing to defend Eichmann, has to wait, though, for the permission of the Israeli government
