Jun. 06, 1959 - Layout Drawing of Britain's First Nuclear Submarine: An Admiralty artist's impression prepared to show the position of the main compartments in the nuclear submarine Dreadnought, which will be laid down at the Barrow-in-Furnace yard of Vickers-Armstrongs (Shipbuilders) Ltd today (June 12th). At Barrow-in-Furness, H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh is to lay the Keel - a prefabricated circular section of plating - of the Dreadnought, which will be the Royal Navy's first nuclear propelled submarine.
