Feb. 29 Layout drawing of Britain's first nuclear submarine - An Admiralty artist's impression prepared to show the position of the main compartments in the nuclear submarine Dreadnought, which will be laid down at the Barrow-in-Furness yard of Vickers-Armstrongs (Shipbuilders) Ltd today (June 12th). At Barrow-in-Furness, H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh is to lay the keel, a prefabricated circular section of plating - of the Dreadnought, which will be the Royal Navy's first nuclear propelled submarine. The machinery to be installed will be similar to that fitted in the latest submarines of the Skipjack class of the United States Navy
