DS Edmund Murray, former bodyguard to Churchill
1965 - The man who guarded Sir Winston - Goes painting on the Riviera: For many many hours - Detective Sergeant Edmund Murray - Sir Winston Churchill's bodyguard for fourteen years -sat and watched the great man at all of his many pursuits especially when he went painting on the Riviera. Now Ex-Detective Sgt. Murray (51) now retired from Scotland Yard Special Branch - has returned for an Easter Holiday to the Riviera -- to paint. He has much of the Churchill style in his work...Mr. Murray said that he just could not carry on in the service - after the death of Sir Winston. He says he has an idea of starting his own detective agency - or - perhaps he could manage a public relations job.. Photo shows Ex-Det. Sgt.
