Jun. 05, 1967 - The Duke and the Duchess of Windsor arrive at Southampton from New York: The Duke and Duchess of Windsor arrived at Southampton today on the liner United States from New York. They have been personally invited here by the Queen to be present at the unweiling of a memorial plaque at a service in tribute to Queen Mary, the Duke's mother, at Marlborough House, the old Queen's home. It was in 1936 that Edward Vili abditd to become the Duke of Windsor, preferring to live in exile with the woman he loved, to life on the throne, without her.
