Duke of Edinburgh in BBC Television programme
Jul. 07, 1957 - Duke of Edinburgh opens International Geophysical year on Television. H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh was the central figure - at the B.B.C. Television programme - presented last night to officially open the International Geophysical Year. A similar broadcast is being made by President Eisenhover in the United States. The Year - actually lasts for eighteen months - and countries from all part of the World are taking part. Information regarding the outer atmosphere - and other unknown phenomena is sought.
