Feb. 02, 1958 - The Duke of Edinburgh faces a barrage of Toilet paper at Edinburgh University. The Duke of Edinburgh was hit by a flying roll of toilet paper at Edingurgh University yesterday. He grained as the end of the roll landed in his lap. He put on his mortar board to prevent further direct hits. Wearing his robes as chancellor, he was sitting on the platform watching actor James Robertson Justice being installed as the University's recetor. The Duke had one of the rowdiest receptions givem by strudents on Rectorial Day for years. Fire crackers, balloons and jacks were hurled at the platform; bugies and bagpiper echoed round the domed hall and streams of toilet paper poured unceasingly from the top tier of studnets. The Duke grineed and seemed to enjoy the fun.
