Feb. 02, 1958 - The Duke Of Edinburgh Faces A Barrage Toilet Paper At Edinburgh University: The duke of Edinburgh was bit by a flying roll of toilet paper at the Edinburgh University yesterday. He grinned as the end of the roll landed in his lap. He put his mortar-board to prevent further direct hits. The Duke had one of the rowdiest receptions gives by students on Rectorial Day for years. Fire crackers, balloons and jumping jacks were hurled at the platform; bugles and bagpipes echoed round the domed hall and streams of toilet paper Poured unceasingly from the top of tier of students. The Duke grinned and seemed to enjoy the run. Photo Shows The Duke of Edinburgh grins - the students president Pat Hamilton, seated next to him grins, as a barrage of toilet paper fly past then during the ceremony in Edinburgh University yesterday
