Duke of Edinburgh at film premiere, Yangtse Incident
Feb. 02, 1957 - THE DUKE DROPS A BRICK'...ATTENDS PREMIERE YANGTSE INCIDENT PRINCE PHILIP, DUKE of EDINBURGH chatted to officers and men who took part in the film YANGTSE INCIDENT - after the premiere of the film at the Plaza Cinema last night. One of the men he spoke to was CHIEF PETTY OFFICER LEONARD WILLIAMS who was senior engine room artificer in the Amethyst - the hero chap of the film. He asked Williams what ship he was serving with now - and Williams replied - In the Royal Yacht, sir. I've been with her for three and a half years, sir'.
