Oct. 08, 1957 - Duke of Edinburgh as godfather Performs immersion Ceremony at the Font: H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh took on the role of godfather this morning at the christening of the baby daughter of his niece Princess Christina of Hesse, the wife of Prince Andrej of Yugoslavia. The baby received the name of Maria. H.M The Queen was a guest at the ceremony held at St.Saa Church, the Serbian Orthodox Church, notting Hill. Photo shows The Duke of Edinburgh lifts the baby princess out of the font during the ceremony assisted by the Priest. This immersion is repeated three times in quick succession
