Dec. 12, 1959 - The Duke of Edinburgh Flies in the Hovercraft.: The Duke of Edinburgh flew in a helicopter from Buckingham Palace to Cowes, Isle of Wight, this afternoon, and then had a flight in Britain's Hovercraft S.R.N.!. He accompanied Lieut. - Commander P. Lamb, the chief test Pilot on a flight over the Solent. Photo shows The Hovercraft come up the beach at Osborne Bay, Isle of Wight, with the Duke on board after its flight over the solent
