Duke of Edinburgh and Lt Commander Parker, Gibraltar
Feb. 02, 1957 - Lieut. Commander Parker Is Back In London After Resignation: Lieut. Commander Michael Parker, whose resignation as the Duke of Edinburgh's private secretary was announced on Monday, following the weekend news that he and his wife had parted, arrived in London yesterday after bidding farewell to the Duke of Edinburgh at Gibraltar. It was not just a parting of a Prince and a secretary, but a part of two long-standing friends. Lt. Commander Parker drove from the airport to the home of his solicitor, Mr. Eric Summer, in Eaton-place. Asked about his marriage he replied that he had not fresh news about his affairs and that he had heard nothing about a divorce. Mrs. Parker returned from the country yesterday.
