Duke of Edinburgh and Lt Commander Parker, Gibraltar

Feb. 02, 1957 - Lieut. Commander Parker Is Back In London After Resignation: Lieut. Commander Michael Parker, whose resignation as the Duke of Edinburgh's private secretary was announced on Monday, following the week-end news that he and his wife had parted, arrived in London yesterday after bidding farewell to the Duke of Edinburgh at Gibraltar. It was not just a parting of a Prince and a secretary, but a part of two long-standing friends. Lt. Commander Parker drove from the airport to the home of his solicitor, Mr. Eric Summer, in Eaton-place. Asked about his marriage he replied that he had not fresh news about his affairs and that he had heard nothing about a divorce. Mrs. Parker returned from the country yesterday.
