May 05, 1953 - The Duke of Edinburgh Leaves Westminster Pier to Take Over the Cutty Sark at Greenhithe. The Duke of Edinburgh left Westminster Pier in the P.L.A Barge Nore for Greenhithe to take over the Cutty Sark on behalf of the Cutty Sark Preservation Society, of which the Duke is president. OPS: The Duke of Edinburgh seen on board the Nore with Sir Frederick Browning before leaving Westminster Pier this morning
