Duke of Edinburgh starts power boat race, Southsea
Jul. 07, 1969 - The Duke starts power boat race: HRH the Duke of Edinburgh, this morning (26th July) started the Daily Telegraph B.P. Round Britain Power Boat Race, from Southsea, Hants. The 50 competitors will today race the first of eleven stages to Falmouth, 173 nautical miles. The race will end on August 5, with final stage from Ramsgate to Portsmouth.
