May 19, 1977 - The Duke Of Kent Opens The Wimbledon Tennis Museum The Duke of Kent, as president of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, opened the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. Among the 1, 000 exhibits ia an exact replica of the 1877 dressing room at the old site in Worple Road, and in the Hall of Fame there are life size models of the great past champions.
