Dutch airline crew in press conference

Sep. 09, 1974 - Awards for crew who floes Japanese Terrorists to Damascus.: A heroes welcome was given the crew of the Boeing 707 - two Dutch ans one British - who flew the Japanese terrorists to Damascus on Thursday. Three of the four Japanese held nine hostages, including the French Ambassador to the Hague in the Embassy, in order to obtain the release of the fourth terrorist, Yutaka Furaya. The crew of the plane were Flight-Commander Pim Sierks and his co-pilot, Ruud ven der Zwaal both Dutch, and Mr. Bernie Knight, the flight-engineer, who is British. They received knighthoods from Queen Juliana.
