Jun. 06, 1937 - A E Matthews celebrates his 70 years on the stage with a party. Actor A E Matthews, who is 87, and has been putting on greasepaint for 70 years this week, celebrated the occasion today when members of the company in which he is now appearing A Month of Sundays gave him a party at the Cambridge Theatre. The party was attended by the youngest actress from each of the London shows, at his request. Photo shows A.E. Matthews surrounded by all the young actresses as he blows out the candles on his cake at the Cambridge Theatre today
