Aug. 08, 1979 - Lord Mountbatten Killed In Boat Blast: Lord Mountbaten of Burma, 79, Admiral of the Fleet, and tyhe last vicery of India, was killed yesterday during a fishing trip with members of hi family. Their boat the 29ft Snowdown was blasted by a 50lb IRA bpomb about five minutes after leaving Mullaghmore Harbour Co Sligo, Ireland, His grandson, Nicholas Brabourne, 14, and an Irish Crewman, Paul Maxwell, 16, wer also killed. Three other family members were seriously injured, they were the Earl's dauther, Lady Brabourne, 55, and her husband Lord Brabourne, 54, the Dowager Lady Brabourne, 82, and the twin brother of the dead Nicholas, Timothy, are all seriously injured and in intensive care at the Sligo General Hospital.
