American gatecrashes the ceremony The wedding took place yesterday at the Parish Church of St. Mary's, Bolsterstone, Yorkshire of the 22 year old Earl of Wharncliffe, known as the Rock n Roll Earl, because he plays the drums in a local jazz group and 20 year old typist Aline Bruce. The couple have known each other for many years. Attending the wedding was American Mr. George Machen, who gatecrashed the wedding because he always wanted to see an English Earl's wedding. He arrived at the Church 3 hours before the ceremony and helped himself to a seat near the aisle while many guests had to stand at the back.
