Edward Heath opens Tonbridge Bypass, Kent

Jul. 07, 1971 - The Prime Minister opens the Tonbridge By-Pass: Today, the Prime Minister, Mr. Edward Heath, officially opened the 51/2 Million Tonbridge By-Pass in Kent. The new By-Pass is 16 miles long and links up with the already operational Sevenoaks By-Pass. Photo shows Mr. Heath meets some of the workmen engaged on the project at the South end of the new Tonbridge By-Pass, watched by the public on the bridge above
