Jul. 07, 1971 - The Prime Minister opens the Tonbridge By-Pass: Today, the Prime Minister, Mr. Edward Heath, officially opened the 51/2 Million Tonbridge By-Pass in Kent. The new By-Pass is 16 miles long and links up with the already operational Sevenoaks By-Pass.
