Mar. 03, 1973 - The Prime Minister talks to relatives of trapped miners at Lofthouse colliery in Yorkshire: Hopes of an early breakthrough to the spot where the seven missing Yorkshire miners are entombed sank last night as rescuers came up against a wall of mud and sludge. It extended for about 120-feet along the approach tunnel at Lofthouse Colliery, near Wakefield, Yorkshire. Yesterday Mr. Heath, the Prime Minister, paid a visit to the colliery and spoke to relatives of the trapped miners. Photo shows MR.
