Aug. 08, 1967 - Mr. Heath Attends Birthday Party - On The Isle of Wight. It takes a lot to persuade Mr. Edward Heath to desert Broadstairs in the holiday season. All the more surprising then, to find Mr. Heath on the Isle of Wight. The reason was supplied by his Aunt Emily and Uncle George. Yesterday was the 80th birthday of Uncle George - Mr. George Wickens, a retired cafe-owner who lives at Bembridge. Aunt Emily though Mr. Heath might like to join a family party to drink her husband's health over a lobster lunch. Mr Heath, seen here on left, said nothing would keep him away.
