Feb. 29 Electronic instrument: The mechanical hands of the Pye master slave manipulator show their manners by lighting a cigarette for Miss Vivienne Minchan at an exhibition of radio, television and electronics held by the British Pye Group at the Royal Festival Hall, London, England, recently. This electronic instrument was designed to handle highly radioactive specimens in the laboratories of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority's power stations at Dounreay, Scotland, and Calder Hall, Cumberland, England. The operator, who is shielded by a thick concrete wall, watches the movements of the hands on a closed circuit television
