Elmar Eder, youngest university student in Germany

Sep. 09, 1970 - Germany's youngest student is packing his cases: 14-year-old Elmar Eder who is the youngest student of the FRG has passed his force diploma in mathematics and physics at the Munich University after studying four terms. His examination subjects were experimental physics, mathematical logic, applied mathematics and theoretical mechanics. The boy wonder received special permission from the Bavarian Ministry of Education for his study at the university because of his unusual talents already when he was 12 years old. Besides this he still goes to school; he is in the fifth class of the classical secondary school. Now Elmer Eder is packing his suitcases (picture) to go to England. He received a scholarship (the costs for the trip and the food supply he has to bear himself) and from September he will go to a private school in Bristol. But Germany's youngest student doesn't only think of physics and mathematics, he also is interested in biology for example and he is an enthusiastic swimmer and skier as well and besides that he is fond of music
