Elsa the lioness, star of Born Free film
Jan. 27, 1961 - Elsa The Lioness Banished From Her Kenya Home - Is Later Reported To Be Dead: Lioness Elsa the star of the best seller Born Free - by Joy Adamson - was reported today to have been banished from Kenya's Northern Frontier District - by the local Africa District Council which ruled that the lioness and her cubs were dangerous. The Lioness and her cub a had been reared from birth by Joy Adamson and her husband George - who is senior Game Warden in Kenya. They have grown up in complete Adamson's country home in the Kenya Bush country. Now later news from Kenya says that Elsa has died from natural causes in Kenya.
