Elton John at Madame Tussaud's, London
ELTON JOHN ACCLAIMED BY MADAME TUSSAUDS Coinciding with the recent release of his 10th Major Album, Elton John the King of the Pop/Rock scene is to receive the honour and dignity of being represented in MADAME TUSSAUDS, LONDON'S famous waxworks. ELTON will join fellow greats of the Contemporary Art and Music world, in the Conservatory Room, which is a recent addition to the Tussaud museum, of the famous and infamous. The Conservatory depicts a casual party scene where figures of Sophia Loren, Andre Previn, Liza Minelli, Glenda Jackson etc. mingle amidst the elegant potted ferns and modern decor. Elton complete with his personally supplied clothes, shoes and glasses, is expected to make his appearance later this summer. (Figure is in the process of being made.) Elton is thrilled by the idea; apparently he used to visit Madame Tussauds on Saturday mornings when he was a student at the nearby ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC, little dreaming that he himself would be represented so few years later. The new record CAPTAIN FANTASTIC AND THE BROWN DIRT COWBOY could well be an all-time sales record, there are already over 1 million Advance Orders in New York alone, making it a Gold before it is even released. Elton is about to make a tour of the States, which should promote the record even more. Sculptor JOHN BLAKELY takes caliper measurements during a sitting given by ELTON JOHN in Madame Tussauds
