Erik Wickberg, new Salvation Army General
Jul. 07, 1969 - New General for the Salvation Army.: Commissioner Erik Wickberg, 65, from Sweden, was today elected General of the Salvation Army in succession to General Frederick Coutts, who is to retire on September 21st, his 70th birtdhay. Commissioner Wickberg was chosen by an absolute two-thirds majority of the High Council, at the Salvation Army's youth centre, Sunbury Court, Middlesex.
