Jan. 2, 1954 - Nairobi, Kenya - American novelist and short-story writer ERNEST HEMINGWAY seen on his arrival at Nairobi West Aerodrome on his way to the coast after his two air mishaps. Hemingway, his wife Mary and pilot Roy Marsh crash landed in the jungle near Murchison Falls and camped out until the morning. They were rescued but the rescue plane crashed. The couple had their second escape: they got through the front of the machine which was soon burned out. They continued their journey by launch and road
