Born at Oberammeragau (Bavaria), Ernst Maria Lang went to the grammar school of the Benedictine monastery Ettal and studied architecture at the Technical University in Munich. Since 1947 he was been working as a cartoonist for the press and television besides his architect work. During the thirty years he has been making cartoons, no prominent politician was left out of being caricatured by Ernst Maria Lang
