Jun. 22, 1957 - Three Britons Jailed and five acquitted in Cairo Spy Trial: Three Britons were given jail sentences and five others acquitted in the Cairo spy trial today. The cairo Criminal Court also passed sentenses ranging from three years to life imprisonment on nine Egyptians, and acquitted a tenth. A Yugoslav was also acquitted.
