Feb. 02, 1962 - Soviet engineer charged on espionage: A trial was opened today at the Supreme Federal Court in Karlsruhe, Germany, against the soviet engineer Valentin Pripolzew, 43, who is charged on espionage. Pripolzew was a member of the Soviet Trade Mission in Cologne until he was arrested on August 25, 1961. On the day before the trial begun, the soviet government had sen an official protest to the Bonn government requesting the immediate release of Pripolzew.
